How W.E. Lead

Developing Leaders for tomorrow

GIRLS

W.E. Can Lead has developed a two tiered program to give girls the holistic support they need to develop into leaders.

Our sustainable model is also committed to tackling the negative attitudes and cultural norms which hold girls back from fulfilling their potential.

Girls empowerment clubs

Safe spaces are created for girls to convene and learn critical life skills (such as financial literacy, critical thinking and good health practices), build self-esteem, self-awareness, and develop leadership skills that will enable them to be confident, influential decision-makers among their peers, households, communities and even country.

The groups are led by trained facilitators who serve as positive role models. They play a critical role in our efforts to provide tailored support for girls to stay in school and be physically, mentally and emotionally healthy.

Upon completion of the first year, girls will have the opportunity to apply for a place in our Young Leader development program. Those who do not gain a place will have the opportunity to attend our annual Empowerment camps and Inspirational Speakers Series

Young Leaders Development Program

As girls progress through the four years of our YLDP, they will have advanced opportunities to develop their skills in leading others and setting and pursuing professional goals. They will practice saving money and making a budget, as well as mentoring younger girls, thereby building their own confidence and leadership skills.

The Young Leader program is designed to provide progressive levels of support, ensuring that W.E. Can Lead’s funds are used effectively and efficiently to serve girls with a strategic plan for their development.

Finally, W.E. Can Lead will provide increased support to exceptional girls who have completed four years of the program to enable them to actively work towards their goals of pursuing higher education or starting their own businesses, and becoming positive, influential leaders.

Girls will have increased opportunities for leadership as

they progress through our programs.
